Lessedra World Print Annual 2010

This is my second year to participate in this vast show of world wide printmaking. It's a top notch show and they produce a very high quality catalogue of the exhibition.
HERE is my page at their website.
HERE is my good friend Nick's page. We shipped our prints together, if you take my meaning.

David Bazan House Show 5/21/10

Seeing David Bazan play a bunch of tunes in a small intimate living room space was one of the greatest 'concert' experiences of my life. Sitting in a nice chair I did this drawing in a sketchbook. I mainly sketched his head; I added the other stuff and the color later. David signed it at the bottom, the fancy ribbon around his name came later as well. If you dig it, please download the hi-er res image here. If you would like a ridiculously large res of this, email me.

the sketchbook in which this drawing rests is a collaborative project my friend Nic Tisdale and I are working on. Just for fun and comradeship. It's a you do a spread, I do a spread type deal. There are already some other gems in there and more to come.

The Hopeful Skeptic

My good pal, Nick Fiedler has written a book. It is called The Hopeful Skeptic. If at any point in your life you've found yourself just gobbling up the religion that others were feeding you, because those others were telling you it was real tasty, then you should give this book a read. This book is for folks who want to use their spiritual taste buds and taste for themselves. I have 11 illustrations in the book and am quite proud to have a small hand in a wonderful and honest book. More posts to come.

Birmingham Artwalk (pretty hap'nin as far as hap'nins go)

Artwalk was pretty sweet. I was set up at Urban Standard. Excellent food, baked goodies and friendly folks. I'm not that good with numbers but i'd say around 100,000 people shuffled through my art display. Being my first festival situation, I thought it went swimmingly. I got a great deal of encouraging and thoughtful feedback. Even the 'that seriously creeps me out' I took as a sort of compliment. Maybe it wasn't.

Thanks to all me (thats pirate for my) buyers and appreciators and thanks to those of you who didn't, as one kind gentleman jokingly put it, "make me drink the hemlock."
